Puerto Rico's Democray

We are living under a corrupted Democracy; nevertheless, we don’t question it. We are seen as consumers for the market, we are seen as producers for the government, we are seen as wealthy or poor, we are seen as female or male, we are seen as right or wrong… but when will be seen as human beings? There must come a time when we, as individuals, stop thinking that the government or the market will fix our broken system and fix it ourselves. It is not equality if among all the forces running the world the individual is the least powerful. It is not justice if there is a beautiful funeral given to the families of the black men, murdered by white cops, without reason. It is not freedom if the government is keeping us under surveillance all the time, restricting the right to privacy. In my opinion, this is not the amazing Democracy everyone seems to think it is. Democracy is being spread, while a better system can and should be created.
